Mark Lerner is going to stop the Real ID. Now.




Mark Lerner is on the road nearly every moment he can find the money. His time is spent in appointments with legislators, sitting down with them to discuss the Real ID. When Mark starts talking they are polite, but not particularly interested. They think they know what the Real ID is about. But when Mark is finished they are worried and asking questions. Mark is the whistle-blower who brought the fraud by biometrics companies to the attention of the Securities and Exchange Commission only to be ignored for nearly two years before he went public. The silence from the SEC continues today. Mark is no longer silent. He is desperate to stop the Real ID because its implementation will hand over the most personal information and the biometrics of all Americans to the use of corporations and governments globally.


Americans have no idea what they are facing. Mark is determined that they be awakened to the their danger. The danger lies deep in plans long in place, from such innocuous agencies such as American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, AAMVA currently has an alliance called the DLC (Driver's License Compact) All but a few states belong to it. AAMVA recently forged a new alliance called the DLA, (Driver's License Agreement) Under the section entitled, “Jurisdiction,” within the DLA, it states that the United States, Mexico and Canada, will be under one umbrella of jurisdiction to share citizen's of each country's information contained in DMV data bases.


The Department of Homeland Security calls the AAMVA and its network, referred to as AamvaNet, the “Backbone of the Real ID Act,” meaning it is the essential system that will allow data bases to be connected and information shared. That includes all information garnered about Americans from all sources. AAMVA has introduced a new alliance between states and territories and countries. Those countries are the United States, Canada and Mexico. This is the precursor, what is needed, for the establishment of the North America Union, the Security and Prosperity Partnership.


This ties together the Trans Texas Corridor, Homeland Security, and the issuance of the Amero to replace the U. S. Dollar, along with and the most ominous branches of the United Nations with the corporations that now take for granted that their profit agenda should control the world.


“If you stop the Real ID you throw a major monkey wrench in their plans,” said Lerner for this interview. That is why Mark stays on the road talking to legislators who have been blinded by the carefully orchestrated half-information provided to them by the Real ID 'opposition' that either focuses on only one issue, for instance Cato Institute with privacy, or by those who simply cannot understand the scope of what is proposed.


Mark also spends his time in briefings with ordinary Americans and activists who come away shocked and appalled that the measure could have come so far and remained under their radar. One recent participant from a conference in California said, “I am numbed; shocked, I had no idea.”


Mark is used to that. His own participation began on the other side of the issue. Determined to do something about security in the wake of 9/11 Mark became a confident of Chairmen of the Boards, CEOs, and other senior officials in the Biometrics Industry. He learned all there is to know about the technologies and about the potential for profits that made those technologies the focus of excitement for billionaires across the globe.


Yet for Mark the focus remained not profits but security and between 2003 – 2004 he realized that for those investing it was profit and not security that was driving the testing. Over two years, he said, he realized that the technologies did not work as presented and the people involved were not to be trusted. Tests were manicured so that outcomes showing an effectiveness of 45% appeared as 90%. Alarmed and unable to get those falsifying results to stop Mark informed the SEC. He was told an investigation was underway. He waited. Then, Congress funded those same technologies.


Mark presents the documentation to anyone who questions his experience. A methodical and careful man, he kept the records, the same information he presented to the SEC.


Today he continues his battle saying that to be truly defeated the Real ID Act must be challenged and brought down simultaneously from three different directions. First, he calls on the grass roots, people, he says, must know and take action. When he speaks he asks them to tie up the phone lines of legislators who support the Real ID; to become informed on the Act, and to ensure that more people find out what is going on under the radar. Then he lays out how the Act can be challenged at the state level and federally. So, he says, “the wolf does not come back again dressed in the skin of yet another sheep.”


To date, Mark has spent four weeks giving evidence to several different committees of Congress in Washington D. C. He has spent weeks on the road, sitting down with legislators in Oklahoma, California, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Kansas, and other states. Every day he or his one occasionally paid staff person hear from activists or legislators in another state who now are beginning to realize what is really in store for Americans. A month ago the ACLU and ACLJ came together for the first time to help Mark in fighting the Real ID Act.


Typically, Mark stays at the cheapest possible hotels. Motel 6 costs less and so keeps him on the road to the next state. He eats fast food; it is cheap and filling. It is a far cry from the kinds of places he stayed while giving advice to the heads of the Biometrics Industry. Asked what others can do to help he responded for this interview, “We have a button on the site if you can spare anything to help. If you have no money we also accept frequent flyer miles.” He evidently means it. Major contributors to the effort have been few and the money tight. The money is so tight his group, Stop The Real ID Coalition, is just a blog that costs them nothing. Mark says that every penny counts.


And Mark, like the energizer bunny, just keeps going and will not stop, he says, until he has driven a spike through the heart of the Real ID because, as he said, “our freedom and the Constitution are in danger and I am an American.”

Earth Day No. 38 - The Summer of Love, Two.






The real Earth Day, the one that takes place on the Spring Equinox, carefully planned by a small group of true and stalwart environmentalists in 1969, continues. On Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 1:48 a. m. EDT (Equinox) a figure will step up to the Peace Bell at the United Nations and a sweet chime will ring out into the night, lingering for all gathered to hear. At the same moment across the world other bells will ring, a symphony of sounds that speak a long and patient dedication to “Peace, Justice, and Care of the Earth.”

The real Earth Day has been kept for 38 years without fail. The faux event, Oil Day, is surrounded by far more noise but more people every day are coming to understand the true meaning of that day in April. If that day had a motto it would be, “Profit, Power, and Exploitation of Earth.”

There was a time when caring about clean air and water united all of us. In 1967 when the Summer of Love bloomed in Berkeley, California, all Americans believed that they stood on the cusp of a time when we would naturally assure that the rivers to flow clean, all shared a common vision for unpolluted air, and war was obviously a problem to be ended. It was a future fervently hoped for by nearly all of us.

It did not happen. The appearance of controversy was carefully manufactured by the same people who now collude to assert ownership of the air we breathe and the water we drink; given the starkness of our future today the words that divide us fade in significance.

Liberal – Conservative – Republican – Democrat – Man – Woman – Black – White. They are just words.

All Americans need to examine how we arrived at this juncture in time. Each of us needs to take immediate action to get off the grids. It is the grids, installed by that ugly concatenation of government and corporations, that caused the problems and divided us. The people of greed need our lives and money to survive; you can stop them by climbing off the grids.


Take this simple yes – no test to find out just how entrenched you are in the grids.

• Do you pay a mortgage every month?

• Do you pay an electric bill every month?

• Do you pay to put gas in your automobile?

• Do you have car payments to make every month?

• Do you pay every month for cable television?

• Do you pay for your Internet access?

• Do you pay for your phone service?

• Do you pay taxes, not fees for essential services?

• Do you pay every month for the water you drink? Use to wash?

• Have you ever paid a traffic ticket?

• Do you pay for tags on your car?

• Do you believe politicians are telling you the truth?

• Do you believe that the media is unbiased and reports honestly and completely?

• Do you think that elections accurately reflect the votes cast?

• Do you know where the food in your refrigerator was grown?

• Was your food grown within just a few miles of your home?

• Do you know, for sure, that Monsanto had nothing to do with producing the food you eat?

• Do you take dietary supplements in hopes of being healthier?

• When you become ill, do you go to a physician?

• Do you take prescription drugs?

• Do you have investments in the stock market that you depend on for income?

• Are you dependent on a pension that is invested in the stock market?

• Do you have a credit card with an unpaid balance?

Count up your “YES” answers. If you answered 1 - 4 questions in the affirmative, you are on a grid, but you are close to being free; good for you. With 5--11, you are Grid Challenged; time to exit. If you scored 12--18, you are Grid Entrenched: you need serious help to extract yourself. Anywhere above 18, you are totally Grid Locked.

Doubtless, you think living this way is normal. Add up the amounts you pay every month just to survive: you will see that mere survival is consuming the bulk of your earnings. You probably have moments when you wonder if there is an exit. There is.

There are two things you need to know right now:

Your situation is not ‘normal.’ Throughout human history, most people have not had to pay money just to continue to live.

And you can change your situation, for yourself and for your children. At the same time, you can build a life that is filled with the things that bring solid community, real happiness, and the leisure to enjoy them. You can get off the Grids and be free to enjoy your life, to find those things you never had time for and which, on your current path, will never be yours.

Most of us work ceaselessly to have the time to do what we love. If you reduce the cost of just surviving, your life is effectively longer because you are spending it in ways that make you happy.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness...”

Happiness is getting off the Grids. Happiness is greeting your neighbors with delight and knowing you matter to them, that you are respected. Happiness is knowing you and your family are safe. Happiness is caring for others and feeling your own life extended through strengthened relationships. Happiness is having the time to make each moment worth remembering.

This can be your future.

You can wake up in a home that you know will be there for your great-grandchildren. It keeps you cool in the summer, warm in the winter, without effort or cost: it is designed right. This technology is available today. You get up and go out to your garden to pick berries for breakfast. They are natural anti-oxidants, the kind of food your ancestors took for granted, that kept your great-grandparents healthy. Much of your food you grow yourself or get from local sources. You can see it growing, so you know it is being done right. The food is delicious, it makes your mouth water and satisfies you: you do not hunger for sweets.

Once, you worked in an office building. Now, you own your own business, which you run out of your own home. You could have chosen any of a dozen things to do, but you picked the one that you find most satisfying. You earn less in money, and much more in satisfaction. Your kids are doing the same; the whole world is their school now. They mastered physics by the time they were 14 or so, and now they are taking time to decide what they want to do. No one you know is worried about money.

All the money is local. Your local ‘bank’ is something you can visit online, but you don’t have to give it much thought. You know who runs it, the woman who used to be your son’s 4th grade teacher. She handles that part time, when she is not teaching weaving. The Board meets occasionally, and you were on it for a while before you cycled off. It is simple, transparent, and therefore impossible to steal.

There is little theft now. Honesty is reinforced by practices, all common law, that make stealing unprofitable. There are no big concentrations of money, no easy way to use power to steal. Those who thought otherwise have found out that it would not work and that trying was not a good idea.

There are not many elections: your community handles matters in your local town meetings. There are no standing armies: the rest of the world has followed the example of the Second American Revolution. Everyone you know can explain the principles contained in the Constitution.


You are healthy; you stopped taking supplements years ago, after the Change. You have discovered the ways of healing that the Grids had worked to keep from you. Physicians earn less, but they now feel better about their craft because they are now assisting people to actually become healthy.

For you, the moment of change might have been when you discovered that the cancer that was killing your wife, could be cured. Or it may have been when they turned off your electricity. Or when your 19-year-old daughter came home from Iraq, the victim of rape that was ignored. She hanged herself from the tree where you had built her tree house back when she was 7. We all had that moment, one when we saw what was really happening.

None of us looked back.

Today, you love your life; you love waking up every morning because life today is exactly what nourishes your spirit and brings joy.

You are looking forward to being a grandfather. Your automobile uses no gasoline, and you know it is guaranteed to last a lifetime. That is what you expect from the world, quality in all things. The furniture in your home will last for generations. The former attorney down the street built that furniture in the shop you helped him set up. We all changed, and it was a good thing.

Welcome to the real America – Celebrate Earth Day and remember what matters.


It only sounds impossible. The means exist; individuals have solved all the problems and individuals are coming together to share. You will find those answers for yourself at the Summer of Love Two this coming Solstice in Berkeley, California.

The Revolution Goes Home to America





What no one in the conventional media seems to understand about the Ron Paul Campaign is that, while Ron is the spokesman—the vessel, according to Danny Romero of Ron Paul Revolution Radio—the action takes place, is organized and funded, not through the Official Campaign, but through the Revolution. That is why we call it The Revolution. With the Revolution, winning is not one campaign, but taking back America. With the Revolution, the people began taking back their power, a process that will continue no matter what.



On the 6th of March Ron Paul spoke on a video that produced dismay among his supporters and delight in the conventional media. In both camps, the reaction was wrong. The real message came here: “Elections are short-term efforts, revolutions are long-term projects.” Dr. Paul went on to point to his campaign as a first step in a long process. The next phase, he said, would be an entirely grass roots effort, not another top down organization. He made it clear that he will attend, he will be part of that process. At the same time he said a quiet NO to centralized control of all kinds—including his own campaign. In one short statement, he therefore endorsed his supporters’ efforts to extend the Revolution into new arenas, taking it home to America. When you really love something you show that love by setting it free. Ron Paul loves liberty; he has set us free to continue the Revolution.



Ron Paul Activists look at politics from a very different direction. Drawn from every part of society, from every walk of life, they came together to work for freedom, much like the original revolutionaries who paid for their own guns and bullets. Freedom is personal, and they know that.



Ron Paul Revolutionaries are united by their common vision for a return to the original Constitution and local control of government. In that, they are finding coalition across boundaries that once divided us. As the Revolution has continued, they have found themselves working with others from every point on the political spectrum. Out of many, they are becoming one, in a curious resonance with that traditional phrase, also echoed in early Christianity and in the fervor that drew Puritans to these shores nearly 400 years ago



The conventional media do not know just how wrong they are. They will learn. Over and over again they have attempted to reframe the Ron Paul Revolution as quirky, marginal, irrelevant. But it is actually the future, not just of America, but of the world.



Gene Gaudette of American Politics Journal, a life-long Liberal and Progressive, had a very different interpretation on, “the new form of politics in America.” Gaudette, a guest on The Revolution Will Not Be Televised on RPRRadio.com, an online station, said today, “The Ron Paul Revolution is a combination of game theory. It is chaotic self organization and planning. What we bear witness to is the power of chaotic, self-determining consensus.” Gaudette went on to say later, “Marshall McCluhan, the guru of communication, used to refer to hot and cold mediums. He would have seen the Internet as a white hot medium, delivering transparency, heat, and power. It is shattering the conventional media.” No wonder the conventional media are afraid. They are in the same position occupied by blacksmiths in the early 20th Century. The people are now taking back their power.



With Ron, that has been the case for his entire career. Penny Langford, who served as District Political Director for his Congressional races starting in 1998 and leaving in April 2007, said today, “Round one is over. Round two is people taking the Revolution local to return governance to the people. We can change the minds and hearts of Americans by showing them that the power is theirs. Big government will not be the future; it is the past. Keep your mind, your hearts, your work, and your money—local.” She went on to point out that all of Ron's Congressional campaigns were run by the volunteers.



Carol Jones, an old associate of Ron’s dating from the Reagan Administration said, “Ron is the heart of the Revolution, but we all know that no one person is, themselves, the answer. It is one of his strengths that he, too, knows that.”



Some find the Revolution from a secular viewpoint, others see in it the flowering of a spiritual truth. Activist Fred Smart of Chicago said of the Revolution, “The energy of freedom and liberty is our divine birthright. The true campaign is summed up in that one word—Energy. Full accountability, full transparency. It is a pulsating, living, breathing body. You can’t put those things on the shelf. They are always active in our lives.”



Freedom is about all parts of our lives, each one precious. Ron shares those views, and he is a man of his word in all things.



Ron Paul made a promise to his supporters that he would continue as long as they wanted. He is still there for us: when we ask, he will come. He has watched the Revolution change the political landscape of America in the last months; he wants that work to continue. The Revolution has made a powerful statement, and he understands what our work means to the future. By stepping back, he is doing more than just keeping his promise to stay and fight. He is removing the confusion over who is in charge. We are.



We will now take the Revolution into our own hands: we will build the visible, living proof that a people can govern themselves.



A time comes when a father steps back so that his child can take those first steps into a future that goes beyond his own life. That time has come for us. Now, we begin the work in our own communities, work that will return America to the vision that promised, not only prosperity, but a security that embraced each of us with the affirmation of our individual rights, granted by God before the existence of any government ever imagined in the mind of Man.



That future will be ours—thanks to Ron Paul.

The lyrics above were written by an astrophysicist – musician – documentary maker who is concerned over the looming threat of disease and famine that now confronts America and people around the world. You can listen to the song on You Tube. He, like so many of us, is supporting Ron Paul for President. This election is the first where the real parties are so clearly defined; Corporate and the People. The illusion of 'Republican' and 'Democratic' are clearly dead. Once you see it the other illusions also die. There was a time that the politics of Augustus Franklin Dunning and Arlo Guthrie would have clashed. No more.


America faces problems in every direction; every problem shares a common origin. Those problems have been perpetuated by the complete lack of transparency in government, the take over of government by corporations, and the ugliness of greed evidenced by those in those same parties. Those in power, both Republicans and Democrats, have proven there is nothing, no matter how venal, petty or vicious, they will not do for a profit.

Who profited? Big Pharma. Who lost? All of us. Who will pay the costs? Us, in more ways that we dare consider. Our children are simply a means to augment income for them.


From the Real ID to the food we eat corporations have used government to evade accountability. Then they use the Vote Stealing Machines, for which we are also forced to pay, to ensure that our shackles are firmly welded in place. And they expect us to act as if the authority their wield is legitimate even as their real intentions are so thoroughly revealed. Phony elections negate any authority.


Every day more Americans understand the systemic methods used by those acting under the color of law to extract our wealth. They used the FED, which is now desperately working to maintain the illusion of stability just one more day or week so they can continue to pump us dry. They used the courts, they used the elections paid for by us. They used all of the institutions for which we, not they, pay.


The solution is the truth, transparency, Ron Paul and return to community.


We can awaken our fellow Americans to the threat of GMO tainted food. We can reverse the downward spiral of health and the prison door now swinging shut on our hopes, slammed by the Grid Corporations, we can take America back to its roots. Part of the answer is Ron Paul, but only part. The rest begins with losing your illusions, the transparency. The next step takes you back to your community where the power of truth and the truths that make us whole can be best seen. You know who you can trust to return the lawnmower, that is why local community works.

That music is the simple truth that sees seeds become what nourishes our souls and stomachs. That music is the sound of people coming together in their most local communities. Communities, small and personal, is where America began. Once, we were a people who knew that. We will be again.


The 60's saw a momentary rebirth of community. It was a time of hope. Then, we all agreed that we needed clean air and water; we were active locally to change the world, resonating to the music that affirmed that out of many we would be one, one despite all seeming divisions. Then, the idea that anyone would assert the right to own the water and tax the air we breathe would have been understood as outrageous. Those ideas are still outrageous no matter what government and corporations say.


Arlo Guthrie endorsed Ron Paul for president, saying, “I love this guy.” So does Don Rogers, former State Senator in California who has known Ron for years.


Rogers wrote a letter asking for support for the Stop the Real ID Coalition. The ACLU and the ACLJ, so opposite in our perceptions, both commend and support the same organization, Stop the Real ID Coalition, in its efforts to inform state legislatures so that they can do what is right and refuse to participate in that corporate war against the freedoms of individuals. The issue is freedom, the real thing.

Today you hear more people every day, Right and Left, quote the Constitution, remembering that a free people govern themselves. Despite the lies and posturing of George Bush, the Unitary Executive Theory, and his corporate employers the only sovereignty is in each of us. As Jefferson said, “whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.


Arlo and Augustus both see that. We are coming together in community to solve the problems and exact accountability against those who have so abused our trust.


Just vote Ron Paul, return to community, and take back America. There are many ways to vote and we need to use the ones that work. Thomas Jefferson would have agreed.
